Meatless Monday!

Broccoli, onions, olive oil, Tuscan seasoning, gnocchi & parmesan for dinner. YuMmY!

Lunch - cheese & crackers

Snack - 3/4 cup rainbow sherbet

breakfast - Sweet & Salty (almond) bar + Dr. Pepper

So I made it through another meatless monday.

I have a sick kid so it was tempting to do chicken noodle soup instead for dinner, but she kept me on track and asked for broccoli and gnocchi. The kid loves the double Cs.

Happy Monday!

I intend to enjoy this Monday at home. Alone. By myself. Quietly.

Sure, sure . . . the Lowe's people will probably call and inform me that our custom-made door is in. that'll be nice to schedule the rest of my week. Door in, then alarm system. Hopefully we will hear from the heating specialist today as well.  I'm really hoping to keep all these repairs from the break-in under five thousand dollars. Sweetie is keen on getting some new hyper efficient solar doodads added to the bill, but I think he'll change his mind once he sees how much we minimally have to put down. Of course, if you're going to do something like that I suppose this would be the time. I just hate letting go of money for something non-fun.

Lots of laundry to catch up on today. Everybody was scrambling to find a pair of matching socks this morning. I would've done a lot yesterday but I ended up going on an impromptu road trip to Ann Arbor (M - Go Blue!) to a tiny art gallery with a friend I don't usually get to spend time with. We had a blast.

Reading, centering, trying to get my head in the right place. Those are my goals, in addition to laundry, today. Probably a little napping too as I slept lousy last night. I haven't decided yet whether or not I'm looking at the forecast. It might be too depressing.

Do a little better each day and eventually you'll be doing fantastic things again. This is what I tell myself. What are you doing this lovely Monday?

A brand new day

Have I ever mentioned that I love Mondays?  It's almost the way some people love New Years, only without the hangover.  A new start for the week and I'm feeling more in control of my life - or at least my schedule. Ok, my schedule until 3 pm. Hot damn, I'm on my own for the day!

So here I go out into the cold cold world, ice on the pond for the first time this season, and I am going where? TO THE GYM! Time to sweat and burn some fat!  HOLLA!

Meatless Mondays & This morning's doctor visit

Breakfast was a Sweet N Salty bar, lunch was grilled cheese on potato  bread, snacks consist of pumpkin bread and FRUIT. Dinner will be whole grain pasta with snowpeas and asparagus, parmesan & olive oil. Some herbs & spices tossed in.

Dr. appointment was good today. She continues to be pleased with my progress, not at all concerned with the slowdown - said that's normal for this time of year for many people. She said keep doing what I'm doing. Aside from a multivitamin, she didn't want me to do any additional supplements. She looked at my airway and considers it small, suspects that the root of my ongoing fatigue is sleep apnea. So, Dec 9th I go see a pulmonologist and they will determine if I need a sleep study. Expect a future post on anxiety, sleep, and insanity.

Meatless Monday take 2

No meat for me today, or for kiddo. 6 servings of fruit for me today and Aunt Flo is calling ahead to say she'll be here soon. Suprisingly, though, my energy level hasn't been too bad! I did 10 minutes of "Free Run" on the Wii Fit today which doesn't sound like a whole lot now that I say it "out loud". I should push for more tomorrow. It was my first try on that, realizing I can run while I watch "Fresh Prince of Bel Air"  could be a real turning point for me. I think I burn more calories laughing, don't you?

Big excitement around here is playing mancala lately. To add to the dinner entertainment, we put some wildlife feed out on the deck today and some super-cute raccoons came to dinner. Hobbes was fascinated by them and they are so maskilly adorable.

All in all, a good day today, but didn't get to read all of the blogs I wanted to. Only 45 minutes until bedtime and I don't think it's gonna happen. Must go report in to Sir Patrick and get the kiddo outta my bed and into her own.

I hereby institute *drumroll please* MEATLESS MONDAY!

Ta Da! I'll be having no meats today, even though I picked up some nice yummy chicken at the meat market today. I had a fish filet for lunch because I was really feelin the need for some Omega 3's. Some people count that as meat, some don't. In the future, I'm leaning towards "don't" because it will make the it oh so much more fun/challenging!

While I was out I bought fruit fruit fruit!!  What kind, you ask?

Watermelon
Mangoes
Kiwi
Nearly ripe bananas
Green bananas
Frozen berries mix
Comice pears
What?! No grapes?!?!?  I didn't see any at the store. bah!

Now the hard part is deciding what to have first. I'm pretty hungry so I was actually considering a smoothie, but maybe I'll do a kiwi instead, see how that holds me over until Kiddo gets home from school. Then we can split a yogurt smoothie or even a mango since both will be new adventures for each of us.

So far today I have walked 1.8 miles on Walk It Out. Not enough to suit me!  Now I'm going to move laundry, have a fruity snack, and drink a bunch of water. Then I'll exercise some more until the bus comes by and drops off my precious cargo.
