I haven't done a book post for a while

And you know I love me some books

And I loves me my new Kindle. Best gift EVAH for somebody who likes immediate satsifaction. Gimme Gimme! I love it so much that I was mad because Sweetie wouldn't let me go sit and wait for the oil change in the Prius. The thought of an hour and a half alone with my K was sooooooooo tempting!

What have you read recently that you've loved?

Here's my quick top 5 list:
(I intend to come back later and fill in links and details)

The Craggy Hole in My Heart and the Cat Who Fixed It by Geneen Roth
Shit My Dad Says
This is Not the Story You Think It Is
The Shack
Lies I Told My Kids by Karen McQuestion

For now, I gotta whip myself into shape and head to church. We leave in 18 minutes. Prolly time to get out of my PJs and stop being a lump :)

  1. I've got the Nook and I love it. It's so nice to have like 100 books with me wherever I go :)

  3. Ahhh, the shiny thing :)

I love book recommedations. I have The Shack in paperback but haven't read it yet. And I haven't read the Geneen Roth book. Can't wait to hear the details. I haven't gotten too attached to my Kindle yet. Somehow the feel of a book still thrills me. Plus, I have to get through my stock-pile of books on-hand "because I really need them." Looking forward to your book details post.

  4. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog the other day. I am also a book nut, so it is great to see a comrade blogging. I don't have a kindle, but I am planning on getting an EVO for my birthday at which time I will probably get the kindle app and.....well, you know. LOL. GO CRAZY!!! I posted my January pick. I hope you like it.

  5. I LOVED Sh*t My Dad Says- I gave a copy to my dad and FIL for Father's Day this year :) I have the Nook, and it's full of mostly vampire stuff, but I also have started reading health and weight-loss related stuff, like the Jackie Warner book, and The New Rules of Lifting for Women. One I'd suggest checking out is Thirteen Reasons Why. That book made me ugly-cry. You know, the snot-nosed, smeared-mascara cry? It's a tough one, but it's so good. It really makes you think about how your choices, even the simplest ones, can affect others.
