Health Benefits of Blogging

Scientific American is one of the favorite periodicals at our house. Here's an article I ran across on their website this morning describing the health benefits of blogging.

For those who don't want to read the entire article, I'll post a few of the highlights.

  • Blogging serves as a stress-coping mechanism
  • It improves memory and sleep
  • Boosts immune cell activity
  • Speeds healing after surgery
  • Complaining acts as a placebo for satisfaction
  • Activates a cluster of neuro pathways
Anyway, it's always fun to find scientific support for what we all know works anyway. Misery loves company but so does success!

Keep up the good fight!

  3. Hey - I just wanted to say thanks for your thoughts on my blog from yesterday's post.

I'll write Mandy on this too, but you're not the first to suggest that he has Aspergers. In fact, my older sister thought about that and told me that's what she thought he had a few months ago. He shows many of the signs.

Somehow, that actually helps me - even if all I'm doing is assuming that he has it. Because then I feel like it is something medical and it CAN'T be me. So maybe I'll just try working on that.

Thanks again for your sweet comments...and for your seemingly never ending support. I really appreciate you.
