Being creative with adding vegetables to crowd out meats. Nutrition experts recommend no more than 5 oz of meat per DAY. Not per meal, per day. Americans eat way too much meat. Especially red meats. Substituting it with asparagus sounds crazy!

Ok, so the crescent rolls are totally lacking in nutrition, but using them (along with 1 oz quality cheese) as a vehicle to eat asparagus totally justifies that treat at this point. Let's not go crazy, afterall! Lasting changes are made one step at a time.
