I need answers

I have a lot of silly questions about this new lifestyle I'm adopting and I'm pretty sure my Halle Berry look-alike doctor can't answer them for me. So, where do I turn? To the incredible blogosphere! Clearly we have all the answers, do we not? Here's what I'm wondering:

1. At what point will my thighs stop rubbing together when I walk?

2. Does anybody else itch through this process? I need to know, because it's a deep below the surface itch and it's going to drive me batty if somebody else doesn't confess that their sub derma or fat layers or something at least occasionally itches as they shrink. I think I could get through it if just one person would admit to having the same weird sensation in all their fattest places as they shrink.

3. How am I supposed to control myself from nagging Sweetie about his eating habits? I never noticed before how much this man eats. Sure, we've only been together 20 years or so . . .it is still the honeymoon phase . . .

4. Spaghetti Squash: Really? Who eats that? Should I try it?

There are lots more questions, but I can't remember them this early in the morning!

  1. 1. I have found that working out (squats and lunges) has helped my legs have a "space", and my legs are my big time trouble area.
    2. Never heard of that!
    3. Just don't nag. Men usually eventually follow your example because it is easier.
    4. Hate spaghetti squash. Try it if you dare.

I am no expert but there is my 2 cents!

  2. 1 takes a bit for your thighs to stop rubbing when u walk ... Get either baby powder or chafing gel....or wear pants

2 never itch like that so not sure hat the answer is..

    3 yes try the squash

  3. I'll go with the last two:

    3. I struggle with this too. Much as I try not to nag, sometimes I cannot keep myself from making an "observation" or comment. Sigh. I think it is best just to lead by example and hope.

    4. Yes. And I don't like most squash. I have a recipe for "Deep Dish Spaghetti Squash Pie" that is like spaghetti pie, if you have ever had that version. If you want the recipe, email me at waistingtimeblog@gmail.com. I also like it with a bit of brown sugar on top. I only tried it in the last year or so of healthy living. And I have done it with spaghetti sauce too, but didn't love that so much. Go for it!!

  4. OK - I laughed out loud at 4. I am considering trying it too but haven't yet. My thighs still rub together so I don't have that answer. Thankfully my hubby eats well. He's always been thin and eats to prevent disease, stay healthy, etc. The only problem I have is when I want to go organic he wants to stay cheap. But I'm working on him...plus when I cook I use organic so if he wants to eat my food he'll have to eat organic. I haven't experienced itching. I hope THAT doesn't start! yikes!

  5. Hey Lainie Painie, found you on the Hot 100 blog roll! Ahh, your questions made me laugh. I don't have all the answers but I can throw out an opinion on a couple. Spaghetti squash. Yes! It's amazingly spaghetti like and it's pretty darn funny to watch it come apart like strings and plop down on your plate exactly like a nice Italian pasta. The taste is not pasta-like, of course. It's squash, and it tastes like it! But with a little seasoning (esp salt n pepper) yum!

The itch. Well. I am not sure about that one! It did make me laugh tho, so I'll take a stab at answering it. I do know that some people experience a strange itching sensation under the skin if they've had kind of sluggish circulation and then they start moving (even walking can trigger it). As the blood pumps, you can sometimes feel a strange itching sensation. Soon it will go away, as your circulation improves.

controlling Sweetie? Dunno on that one. I can barely control myself! Rubbing thighs? Eternal question. Would like to know the answer myself!

  7. 1. With the 20 pounds I just lost this has been a positive change but as said above, I did a lot of squats and lunges.
    2. Never heard of itching either... hmmm?
    3. Think about how you would feel about the nagging, I would try my hardest to refrain from nagging, maybe just try subtly passing information about food choices
    4. Spaghetti squash - I haven't tried it either but see it in different recipes. I'll try it if you do?

  9. 1.Thighs: will stop rubbing when you've lose enough inches there. Mine are only just now not rubbing hard but I still have a little ways to go.

2.Itching: I itch like crazy too! Lotion, vit E oil, and more lotion. Oh, and drink lots of water to hydrate from the inside.

3.Don't nag Hubby. But if it bothers you to see him snacking, go in another room until he's done. And have him tell you he's done for another hour or so. Believe me, you can't change him if he doesn't want to be changed.

4.Spaghetti squash: Hubby loves it. Son wants to try it. It's ok but I really don't like cooked veggies. Try it with pasta marinara sauce on it, with lots of garlic and mushrooms.

  10. 1. Depends on your body build, mine rubbed together back when I was 18 and under my ideal weight.

    2. Sometimes when I work up a sweat I itch, but it goes away once I'm fully cooled off.

    3. um... bite your tongue?

    4. I really like spaghetti squash cooked up with some roma tomatoes, onions, garlic, oregano, and all kind of stir fried in a teensy bit of olive oil. It is also good with canned sauce. However, it is a big hassle, you have to bake the squash first and then rake it out of the shell with a fork before you can use it in a recipe. Grated Zucchini tastes similar, with a lot less work, but is a little more soggy.

  11. 1. That is a great question. So far I still have the rub. I wear capri's to help and spandex under them if I am walking a distance.

    2. I have itchy ears, does that count? I mean really itchy, and only since I have started working out. Hmmmm..I might have to pose that question.

    3. Control..that might be a problem. Just start to replace the junk with healthy. If you used to buy Debbie Cakes for him, just stop and replace it with fruit. I have done this at my house and my whole family is on the wagon now.

    4. Spaghetti Squash: Yummy! I used to eat it as pasta, it was good but I couldn't fake it for long. Then I started eating it like a dessert instead. Give it a whirl. What's the worse that can happen?

Great post by the way :)

  13. I have one of those split slips to wear under dresses. Works great, keeps my thighs from rubbing and allows me to be comfy wearing things I enjoy.

  14. Hmmm... My thighs are going to be rubbing for a while, yet.

No itching, here. Not even down in my fat layers.

I tried with hubbs. He is an adult and can make his own choices and I am over ragging on him about them.

Spaghetti squash isn't bad, really. I have been meaning to get one and have it with some home meade sauce for dinner, soon. :D

  15. Spaghetti squash-YES! I was eating gluten free, now I am not but am trying to lose weight. Try it with spaghetti sauce it's delicious and you can have a ton without all the calories of pasta. I have also had it with alfredo sauce, and that is good as well.

  16. My friend made spaghetti squash and said it was yummy!

  17. Spaghetti squash tastes like ass. Vegetable ass. And if there's a good way to take that? I don't mean it in that way.

Also, no itching for me and I can't wear courderoys for fear of spontaneous combustion.

Lastly? I have no idea about men and eating. I just landed me a man and I can see me heeding the advice you get for the next 20 years.
